RACINE, Wis. - Ideal for large acreage and commercial hay producers, the new RD3 Series headers from Case IH are designed for users who demand high-quality hay and greater productivity along with reduced maintenance costs and downtime.
Featuring two sizes, the RD3 Series includes the new RD163 and RD193, the largest header in the industry. At a full 19 feet (5.8 m), the RD193 is ideal for operations that require both the highest quality hay production and the maximum output efficiency. The RD163 provides a true 16-foot (4.88 m) cut width for extraordinary in-field productivity.
"We're proud of this new series of rotary disc headers," says Scott Raber, Case IH Marketing Manager, Hay and Forage. "We knew our customers needed larger headers with best-in-class reliability - and we delivered."
Design Innovations Offer Productivity, Durability
The new Case IH RD3 Series rotary disc headers include design advantages like the best-in-class, wider disc cutterbar that delivers better hay quality and reduced power consumption. By reducing "scalloping" effect in the crop and in the field, the cutterbar design reduces horsepower consumption for better fuel efficiency and optimized productivity.
"The RD3 Series includes several examples of Case IH intuitive innovation," says Raber. "For instance, the new cutterbar discs are 24 percent wider than the previous series, while heavier internal bar components provide outstanding durabilty and long service life."
"We know our customers want to cut more acres every hour, even in tough field conditions - and they demand the best quality hay," Raber continues. "With a full-length auger for optimal feeding and superior windrowing, plus interchangeable conditioning systems for a range of crop types, the new RD3 Series from Case IH offer the best combination of hay quality, maximum productivity, and long-term durabilty in the industry."
