RACINE, Wis. - Feeding the world is a big job, and it’s growing even bigger. That’s why Case IH, a Wisconsin-based agriculture equipment manufacturer, is committed to its role in helping agriculture rise to the challenge, and it starts with today’s youth.
For the second year in a row, Case IH will serve as the premier sponsor of the 2011 Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair on Wednesday, August 10.
“The purpose of the Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction is to recognize the hard work and dedication that youth exhibitors put forth to produce high quality livestock that will provide wholesome and nutritious products,” explains Nate Weinkauf, the combine marketing manager for Case IH and board member of the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation. “Case IH is honored to support the auction and the youth involved to help encourage their continued involvement in agriculture and their ability to raise safe, healthy food.”
The Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction recognizes those youth who exhibit a grand, reserve, or breed champion in the Beef, Sheep, or Swine Junior Shows. This year, more than 600 Wisconsin State Fair junior exhibitors will compete for a coveted spot in the auction. Youth exhibitors who win an auction spot will sell their animals with proceeds going to the exhibitor and the annual youth scholarship fund.
“The Governor’s Red, White & Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction helps showcase Wisconsin agriculture’s most valuable asset, its youth,” says Scott Rasch, public relations manager for Case IH. “Case IH is proud to put its stamp on the auction and help these youth prepare for a future in agriculture.”
The Wisconsin State Fair is held in West Allis, Wis., from August 4-14. For more information about the Wisconsin State Fair, visit http://www.wistatefair.com/11_web/contests/ag.html.
