BALE LENGTHFT (M)
The narrow sleek design of the LB4 series balers increases operator visibility to the rear and sides of the baler for increased operator efficiency. The curved shape allows for crop debris to fall off baler for less ingress of debris into knotter assembly and twine storage areas resulting in less operator maintenance and increased performance.
One piece twine box panels utilize durable thermoform technology. The composite shields are a one piece design with automotive seals for minimal debris in twine box. This provides easy maintenance and less ingress of debris into twine and knotters. Front gearbox shield is a composite shield using rotomold technology for lighter weight and durability.
The three stage opening assembly allows for easy ground level access to key service points and full visibility of gearbox and routine checks. The flywheel brake lever is ground level and has to be in place before you can raise the shield.
The purposeful new styling includes a newly designed service platform, which features one level for easy access to key bale chamber service points and knotters. The foldable ladder provides quick access to the platform and stores easily without being an obstacle.
The PTO and drive line on the LB4 series balers showcase the same proven reliability as seen on the LB3 series. The primary and secondary drivelines have been upgraded for increase power and performance to match the baler capacity.
The drive line is a 3 joint design. The new shaft angle minimizes vibrations for increased reliability and longer life. The input shaft has been strengthened for greater reliability.
The LB4 features a larger diameter flywheel that creates 21% more energy on the 3x3 and 48% more energy on the 3x4 model. The increased energy provides smoother operation and decreases the load on the tractor when baling through tough conditions or heavy windrows.
The capacity of the new baler has been increased by up to 20% over the previous model. This is done by increasing the strokes per minute from 42 to 48 strokes. This allows for greater productivity and more bales harvested per day. The Gearbox has heavier duty components and a new input shaft design to handle the increased loads of the high capacity machine.
The hitch on the LB4 series baler is adjustable and reversible so it can readily match to any tractor hitch and drawbar configuration. The narrow design is easy for the operator to hook up the baler and also allows for faster tighter turns.
The LB4 Pick up was designed for capacity and reliability. The wide pick ups and the new pick up flares pick up the wide windrows to ensure crop isn’t left behind.
The roller windguard provides an even flow of crop material into the baler. The roller windguard is adjustable up and down with out the use of any tools.
The Feed assist roller directs crop material directly into the pre-chamber of the baler optimizing crop flow. The feed assist roller works in conjuction with the overshot stub augers to consistently move material from the sides of the pick up into the pre-chamber. Overall the combination of the roller windguard, feed assist roller and overshot augers provide optimum feeding and result in high capacity feeding.
The pick up has been re-designed for increased durability and wear life. The frame and the pick up reel have been strengthened to handle tough conditions. The coil mounted tines are shot peened to stand up to adverse conditions with out bending or breaking.

MISTIE DETECTION SYSTEM
The LB4 balers offer the single mistie detection system as standard on all units. This system uses one sensor to detect the mistie. The operator is alerted of the mistie on the monitor as well as the flag on top of the knotter indicating which knotter has failed.
STEERING INDICATORS
New to the LB4 balers is the steering indicators. Sensors are located on each side of the front of the baler. The sensors monitor the windrow position and tell the operator how to steer. The frontal position of the sensors provide the fastest reaction time possible. The monitor shows direction based on lightbar grid on in cab monitor. This feature is standard on all models.
MONITORS
The LB4 Series Balers offer two options for monitors; the AFS Pro 700 Color Monitor or the AFS Pro 300 Color Monitor.
The two monitor offerings are ISOBUS compatible and feature:
OPTIONAL MOUNTED CAMERA
Both monitor offerings also have the capability of having a mounted camera feed into the monitor. The new camera mounting option is a rigid mounting assembly that is fixed on the rear handrail. The camera is a high quality camera and provides one view from the rear.
For high-density bales that break apart easily for feeding, select from two optional Case IH precutting systems. These systems cut the crop before it enters the precompression chamber.
Pack more crop into each bale, saving on handling and transportation costs. Case IH precutting systems create:
Rotor Cutter System
For maximum flexibility and bale density, add the optional Case IH rotor cutter to your LB4 Series baler. It uses a large rotor to feed crop from the pickup through a row of knives before entering the precompression area.
Maintaining the LB4 Series large square balers is easy:
Shielding lifts up and out of the way for complete access to all maintenance areas.
