Merry Christmas from the Case IH team

20 Dec 2019

Another year has flown by and we find ourselves preparing for the busy Christmas and New Year celebrations ahead and reflecting on the year that has been and the one that lies ahead. Depending on where you are across our vast country, 2019 has offered a mixed bag of fortunes and in sending you and your families the best wishes of the season, I also send hopes for rain in the new year in the areas where it's so desperately needed.

We had hoped 2019 would bring improved conditions across the drought-affected regions of Australia, but the weather has again tested many farming businesses, with little to show for the tireless effort, perseverance and financial outlay. We know the strength, adaptability and foresight of the nation's agriculture sector, but we also appreciate its reserves are being tested at present – on more than one front. Many parched regions are also enduring severe bushfires that are taking an enormous toll on farm properties, and our thoughts at this time are also with all of those affected communities and families. We must acknowledge, too, though that the nature of Australia's climate means that while many are doing it very tough, many farmers are also taking advantage of better conditions that we know will eventually return to the eastern states.

But, whatever you're experiencing at present, the one thing we all appreciate is that the future could bring more of these prolonged dry periods and it's important for all of us to do what we can to prepare for the tough times when they hit again. It's something we take very seriously here at Case IH and on which we're very focused.

This year that commitment has been shown in the release – or imminent release − of numerous new products into our local market: the 50 Series Axial-Flow combines, new Maxxum tractor series and the revolutionary AFS Connect Magnum. We know for many farmers at present a new tractor or combine is the last thing on their minds, but we're determined to ensure local producers – wherever they are and whenever they're ready to make that investment − have access to the most up-to-date options for their business.

From everyone here at Case IH, we wish you a happy Christmas and hope 2020 offers a return to more prosperous times for all of our customers, everywhere. Stay safe during the busy festive season and please spare a thought for those who may find this Christmas particularly challenging.

Regards,
Pete McCann
