Wishing customers a safe and happy Christmas
22 Dec 2022
As many regions continue the annual harvest or have just wrapped up in time for Christmas, we reflect on a year that has again brought mixed fortunes, particularly on the weather front for many farmers on Australia's east coast. Relentless rain in so many areas of NSW, Victoria and southern Queensland has on the one hand replenished water storages and soil moisture profiles, but subsequent devastating flooding has led to crop, livestock and infrastructure damage and losses, from which many farm businesses are still recovering.
In the likes of Western Australia, South Australia and other parts of Queensland, conditions have been more favourable and reports are of bumper yields. As is the nature of farming though, we know fortunes change – poor harvests one year can turn to big returns the following year – and I know the thoughts of those currently enjoying a highly profitable season are with their peers struggling with the impacts of this year's rain.
As is also the case with our industry, too, where there's challenges, there's also opportunity, and the likes of strong commodity prices have helped contribute to another big annual result for agriculture, despite the ongoing rain and floods. We hope that continues into 2023 and those who have endured losses in the past few years can take advantage of improved fortunes in the year ahead.
"Our staff and dealers have enjoyed being back in front of customers this year at the likes of field days, agricultural shows and exhibitions and we look forward to that continuing into 2023" - Pete McCann, General Manager Case IH Australia/New Zealand
We're also committed to helping with other aspects of customer operations, such as the timely supply of machinery, the provision of increasingly sophisticated technologies aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity, and the highest levels of service and support through our hard-working dealer network. Parts supply has continued to improve this year and while we're still experiencing some challenges around machinery supply, some of our product lines, particularly at the low- to mid-horsepower end of our tractor ranges, have good availability. We continue to work hard on addressing this issue and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Our staff and dealers have enjoyed being back in front of customers this year at the likes of field days, agricultural shows and exhibitions and we look forward to that continuing into 2023. We also have a number of innovative new products to introduce to you next year and we'll share further details of those as the time gets closer.
All of us at Case IH would like to wish you a happy and healthy festive season and hope the new year is one of success and fulfillment. For those continuing the annual harvest, stay safe, and for those still recovering from the floods, our thoughts are with you and we hope you're back on your feet soon.
