Why Batteries Fail (And How To Keep Them Running Longer)

Using a standard car battery could mean risking your productivity this harvest. But to understand the importance of premium batteries, it’s important to understand why they fail in the first place:

Vibration: the number one killer to all batteries. Extended vibration can crack battery welds and plates, causing electrical shorts.
Temperature: when it’s hot, batteries discharge more and sulfation (which is the crystallisation of Lead Sulfate) reduces the ability for the battery to charge. In cold situations chemical reactions are delayed, restricting power production when it is needed most.
Periods in storage: Agricultural seasonal machines have extended periods in storage.

To counter the effects of vibration, temperature and periods in storage, a truck or car battery will simply not do!
