Cooperation with Turkmenistan to promote agricultural growth and productivity

28 Sep 2018

Productivity and growth in the agricultural sector of Turkmenistan will be continuously enhanced thanks to a 24 year relationship between Case IH parent company, CNH Industrial, and the Agro-Industrial Ministries of Turkmenistan.

This cooperation began in 1994 when the first Case IH combines and cotton pickers were delivered to Turkmenistan. Since then around 3000 units of Case IH agricultural machinery, including tractors, combine harvesters, and self-propelled cotton pickers have been delivered to the country.

CNH Industrial provides, with support of a local dealer, full service support to the agricultural areas of Turkmenistan through a network of workshops, parts warehouses, service vehicles and fully trained technicians. In addition, operator and maintenance training is also provided. During the important harvesting season, service support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

With cotton crops occupying over 545,000 Ha of Turkmen agricultural land, much attention is paid to the cotton harvesting process. With machine picking, costs are reduced by more than four times compared to hand-picking, with the quality of hand picking not being superior to machine picking. The Turkmen Government's priority is to collect raw cotton using high-performance advanced technology – and this is achieved through using Case IH cotton harvesters.

The next stage of cooperation was discussed in February 2018 during a meeting between the Honourable President of Turkmenistan and the Chief Operating Officer of CNH Industrial for the Asia-Pacific Region.

CNH Industrial provided the Government of Turkmenistan with its proposal for a modernized park of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, which included a financial package as well as the provision of the company's world-leading machinery. In July 2018, the company hosted specialists from a number of ministries on visits to its US factories, so they could see both the proposed Case IH equipment and the quality control processes of the products.

CNH Industrial will further contribute to the development and strengthening of the technical power of the agricultural sector by supplying the latest Case IH machinery for the renovation of Turkmenistan's machinery fleet. CNH Industrial works closely with the Turkmen Government to develop the products especially for the unique conditions of the Turkmen market to ensure maximum performance and durability in demanding conditions.

CNH Industrial is a proud sponsor of the Agricultural Institute in northern region of Dashoguz in Turkmenistan, which was opened in May 2010. In 2011 CNH Industrial opened a representative office in Ashgabat, enabling CNH Industrial to further support the Turkmen Government in developing their agricultural technology and to become a contact point for customers in the country.
