CVT - Continuous Variable Transmission
In 1999 Case IH launched its first Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT ) tractor featuring the industry leading Auto Productivity Management (APM). The CVT transmission is designed to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. This maximization is achieved through the combinations of seemingly infinite gear ratios which provide the farmer the ability find the perfect balance of power and efficiency for the work that needs to be done. This feature, which automatically manages the engine and the transmission, revolutionized the way tractors are driven and led to the development of CVT in Europe.
