Case IH AFS AccuGuide RTK excels in DLG Focus Test

07 Feb 2014

The AFS AccuGuide RTK steering system from Case IH excelled in a recent DLG Focus Test, demonstrating precision down to three to five centimetres. The test also confirmed minimal deviations from the set path on uneven terrain and an overall long-term accuracy of three centimetres. The system was operated in the DLG Focus Test with an AFS 372 GNSS receiver, installed on a Puma CVX 160.

The accuracy of the steering system was determined by the DLG testers in the DLG Groß-Umstadt test centre using an optical reference system. Alongside the accuracy test a check was also made of the steering system's handling characteristics in agricultural tractors. The testers also reported that the AccuGuide’s controls and display were easy to use.

Key to the system’s accuracy is its use of signals from both the American GPS satellites and the Russian Glonass system, providing a high level of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data to the receiver.
