“I’m putting on starter fertilizer with the planter. I ordered it with the optional in-furrow system that also had a new TeeJet system for applying fertilizer more accurately on the go .The unit fits right into the design of the planter. I’m applying 4 gallons per acres so I can go 400 acres before refilling.”
DeltaForce hydraulic down force

“With the down force, I saw that there was less bouncing with the row unit, so the seed’s depth and the spacing were more uniform – even at higher speeds. It worked really well in wet soil conditions. It actually seemed like it almost raised the planter toolbar up as it got into the wet conditions.”
Easy depth adjustment

“I’ve now got quarter inch increments that to set the depth at. When the ground was dry, I could easily set it just a little bit deeper compared to my previous planter.”

Two-Stage Closing System with in-cab down pressure adjust

“The two-stage closing system made the difference. It has a second set of closing wheels that put some moist dirt back into the trench where the seed and then the press wheel come along and seals the hole. It really helped with the soil-to-seed contact and that brought up the plants a lot earlier — like a day earlier than what my old planters would have.”
Automatic and in-cab adjustments

“I like making the adjustments in the cab because it’s so less time-consuming. If I have to get out and make an adjustment, get back in and start planting again, and it’s not right, then I have to get out and do it again. It saves me a lot of time. I can sit there in the cab and focus on how the planters running.”

“The 2150 has more row unit travel. When going over a stone knob or through a waterway, I could really make sure that the row unit stayed on the ground and in the right place a place for most accurate planting conditions on that hill or waterway.”

“One of the things that surprised me about the 2150 was how easy it was to change, based on varying field conditions. If I saw a lower, wetter spot coming or a spot with more residue because it wasn’t tilled as often, I could change the residue managers from the cab. It really helps to save time and effort.”

“As far as accuracy, you can’t get more accurate. With a shaft on your planter and a chain, there’s just a lot of loose moving parts. With electric drives, it’s all in-house, it’s all one piece. It really helps to get that seed in the ground more accurately.”
