Case IH Advanced Vehicle Suspension Receives EIMA Technical Evolution Award

Case IH has earned an EIMA Technical Evolution award for Case IH Optum® 360-440 series tractors equipped with Advanced Vehicle Suspension, reinforcing its commitment to advancing agricultural technology with a clear practical purpose. The achievement was celebrated at Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna during the EIMA Technical Innovation Contest ceremony. The award recognizes a suspension system that responds automatically to changing conditions, putting advanced engineering to work for operator comfort and tractor stability.

A fixture at every EIMA since 1986, the contest, organized by FederUnacoma – the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation – recognizes developments that improve agricultural production and the quality of operators' work. The “Evoluzione Tecnica” distinction is awarded to products that introduce original improvements to solutions already manufactured or patented.

Automatic control for changing conditions

From demanding field work to road transport, suspension requirements change throughout the working day. Advanced Vehicle Suspension (AVS), available on Optum 360, 390 and 440 models, responds continuously, adjusting how the suspension absorbs shocks and controls movement without requiring manual adjustment.

Sensors monitor vibrations transmitted from the tractor chassis to the cab, enabling the system to adjust suspension damping in real time. The control logic prioritizes comfort at lower speeds and stability as speed increases. It also adapts to factors such as lower tire pressures, adjusting its response when the tires absorb more of the initial shock.

The engineering is advanced; the operation remains straightforward. As tasks, speeds and conditions change, AVS manages the suspension response in the background, leaving the operator free to focus on the work ahead.
