Improved chop length and bale density with LB baler

07 Jun 2019

Christian Swift runs the agriculture contracting side of Swift Agri Ltd providing hay, haylage and straw to farmers and the equine market.

“I have always been keen on Case IH balers so in 2018 we purchased the new 4 string Case IH baler LB324PXL from GCS Agricentre in Shaftesbury,” says Christian.

“With the business expanding and more baling work coming in, a faster and more efficient baler with more density was needed and having looked at other balers, I decided the Case IH Baler was the ideal machine for the markets we cater for. Since taking delivery of the baler in May 2018 I have been extremely pleased, achieving great bale weights
in every crop.

“What impressed me the most was the chopping unit having 6 knives instead of 4, giving improved chop length in silage which some customers want. The longer bale chamber has improved the density, consistence and bale shape which is good when selling straw by the tonne.

Most importantly, our customers are really impressed and are complimenting us
on the size and weight of the bales, creating more work for the forthcoming season.
