Stage 1: Large, 9-inch-diameter, inverted closing disks provide consistent soil replacement and coverage, placing high-moisture soil directly onto the seed.
Stage 2: A press wheel ensures proper seed-to-soil contact for uniform emergence. A chevron pattern on the press wheel provides a stress crack relief in crusting soils and channels water to the root zone area.
Not all fields are postcard perfect or workbench level. Not all soils are mellow sandy loam. Residue conditions vary. The new 2000 series Early Riser planters — right down to the two-stage closing system — know and accommodate these differences. The industry’s first in-cab adjustment option allows you to fine-tune closing disk down pressure to suit different field conditions. A tool-free, manually adjustable spring downforce lets you easily customize press wheel down pressure.
