Whether you’re eyeing the end of your haying season with one last cutting of high-quality alfalfa or perhaps considering leaving a few acres of grass hay as insurance against a tough winter, Case IH can help you slice through the toughest conditions and finish the season strong.
Putting up the best hay possible hinges on timeliness — from cutting at the appropriate stage to baling at the right moisture level to efficient hauling and storage. Case IH mowers and conditioners provide the fast, clean cutting performance and high-quality conditioning to help you get the most out of your hay fields. And whether you market that hay off the farm or feed it to your own livestock, that’s a direct, bottom-line benefit.
Choose the right cut
Our rotary disc mowers and conditioners deliver fast cutting and high-quality conditioning for superior hay quality and windrow formation and fall into three categories:
Rotary disc mowers handle tough conditions while delivering clean cutting performance, maneuverability, durability and overall value. Choose from three heavy-duty models with cutting widths from 6 feet, 8 inches to 9 feet, 2 inches. If your hayfields are less demanding, we offer three economical rotary disc mowers featuring cutting widths from 5 feet, 6 inches to 7 feet, 11 inches.
On the heavy-duty models, each disc houses two knife blades that rotate at 3,000 rpm. Disc hardware is specially designed and treated for extreme durability to resist abrasive conditions. Each model also includes cutterbar shock protection and is engineered for easy, hassle-free maintenance.
Pull-type disc mowers feature a smooth ride, clean cut, superior trailing ability, low transport height and easy tractor hookup. The Case IH TD102 pull-type disc mower features 10-foot cutting width and a modular cutterbar design for superior crop flow that reduces streaking and ensures quick mowing.
Rotary disc mower conditioners provide industry-leading cut and crimp for superior hay quality and optimal windrow formation. Conditioning can greatly reduce dry matter loss while also reducing curing time in the swath for less exposure to weather and less leaf shattering and respiration losses.1 Cutting widths on our four DC3 series disc mower conditioners range from 9 feet, 2 inches to 16 feet.
A new approach to hay cutting or an upgrade to your existing rotary disc mower can help you deliver a higher-quality product to your customers or to your livestock.
