The more you know about a particular hayfield and the hay you’re putting up, the more tightly you can manage quality. The Case IH Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) provides that knowledge. In haying terms, AFS can help you tie it all together.
The Large square balers series arrive from the factory AFS-ready. The same intuitive, easy-to-read displays used to control and monitor Case IH tractors, combines, sprayers and planters control key functions and track important information on LB4 balers. AFS can:
- Monitor bale weight, moisture and more
- Detect misties
- Store up to 300 job records by field and up to 33,000 individual bale records
Precise preservative application. Hay preservatives help prevent rain-damaged hay by opening up the harvest window. They are ideal when weather threatens or when you need to cover lots of acres in a tight time frame. But they aren’t always necessary across the entire field or throughout the day. That’s where AFS comes in.
The 600 Series Automatic Applicator System for Case IH large square balers integrates seamlessly with the baler’s electronic controller and the tractor’s AFS display. The combination provides highly efficient and precise hay preservative application without the need for a separate monitor in the cab.
The 600 Series Automatic Applicator System accurately senses moisture on the go and adjusts the application of preservative every three seconds to match the condition of the hay. You apply the exact amount of preservative that’s needed to keep the crop in great condition without wasting product.
Sensors directly interface with the baler and tractor to determine hay moisture content, speed of baling (tonnage), how much preservative is applied and total tons baled. This information is displayed on the tractor cab’s AFS Pro 300 or Pro 700 monitor.
The system can store up to 300 job records by field, including the date and time of baling, number of tons baled, product used and overall moisture levels. Within those job records, the system also can store up to 33,000 individual bale records. Records can be downloaded via a USB port for easy and efficient access to crucial bale data.
The system also has the capacity for add-on features such as Case IH ProID™ bale taggers, dye sprayers, bale weight information and GPS yield mapping.
Rear-view display. Although the data paints an accurate picture of each bale, there’s no substitute for visual inspection. An available rear-mounted camera feeds video to your AFS Pro 700 display. You can see each bale as it ejects so you catch any problems immediately.
